On a Warm Summer’s Eve, on a Train Bound for Nowhere…

Arkem: If it’s a train bound for nowhere why don’t they get off?
Me: They wanted somewhere to have a nap.
Arkem: And a chat. And some whiskey.
Me: Sounds pretty good to me.
Arkem: ….so they were at the bar? …. If I open a bar I’m going to call it ‘Train Bound For Nowhere’.

This is a song about drinking and taking risks, about making friends with strangers, and about death.* And if you’re in the right frame of mind it sounds like a lullaby.

We were both too tired to sleep
So we took turns staring
Out the window at the darkness
He said, “If you’re gonna play the game, boy
You gotta learn to play it right

* Which is also a pretty good description of Drink Me. So you can understand what it’s doing in this playlist.
